REAL ENGAGEMENT: Moraine Lake Stormy Engagement Session

The Season: Spring in the mountains! Early June

The Location: Moraine Lake in Banff National Park

A Snippet About the Day: Early June is still pretty unpredictable for weather in the mountains, it can rain, it can snow, it can be crazy windy, it can be everything all in one day so I’ve learned that we just need to roll with what we’ve got & not stress out about the weather. Most people think of June as a warm month, but that’s not always the case. It was a chilly even for Romie & Ripsi’s Moraine Lake stormy engagement session but it was beautiful! I love the moody & dramatic skies! When it’s cold, you get to snuggle more, that’s a total win! The other advantage to to “iffy” weather is that it keeps a lot of other people away… making it far easier for us to wander & get great photos without having to work around the tourists as much! We started off the trek up the rock pile with a couple stops for photos since the backside of the lookout is pretty darn cool too. Once we reached the top we wandered around taking in the views, find angles to get the blue water (early in the season the water can be low so there’s a lot more lake bottom showing!). Romie & Ripsi were already engaged but opted to do an engagement session while on holidays. What Ripsi didn’t know was that Romie planned to surprise her with a second blue box during their Moraine Lake stormy engagement session. It almost didn’t happen but Romie persisted in one last photo before we ended the night. I got them in place, he dropped to one knee & presented Ripsi with a second Tiffany ring, lucky girl!! You bet she said yes twice!!
