The Location: Moraine Lake in Banff National Park

A Snippet About the Day: Kevin & Charlene’s Moraine Lake spring engagement session took place just a couple days after the road to Moraine Lake opened for the season. Moraine Lake opens after Victoria Day Long weekend & the date varies from year to year, fyi. We had a long, cold & snowy winter so when the road opened & we met up for this Moraine Lake spring engagement session most of the lake was still frozen except for a small section. The water level was also down about 15 feet which gave us an area to shoot that only happens for a few days each year, super exciting! Because the Lake was frozen, there were people out walking around on it everywhere… which makes it a little tricky to not have people in the background… luckily some clever angles helped make the people disappear! We wandered across the frozen lake & tucked into the corner where we could see the infamous blue water of Moraine Lake… it seemed no one else that day had noticed the water so we didn’t have to share the spot & we got to create some truly unique photos for Kevin & Charlene’s Moraine Lake spring engagement session  at the end of May!
