REAL ELOPEMENT: Spring Mountain Elopement at Emerald Lake Lodge

A Snippet About the Day: Amber & Sam had a Spring Mountain Elopement in early April at Emerald Lake Lodge. What does spring look like in the mountains? Well, that depends on where you are. Some spots look like spring with the snow melting, other spots still look like full-on winter with knee high snow & frozen lakes. You really don’t know what you’re going to get this time of year. Amber & Sam got ready together for their spring mountain wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge in their cabin together. I love when couples see & help each other before the ceremony. These two walked down the pathways among the cabins to the patio at Cilantro together for their ceremony. I had them set up a fire in the pit (a fun touch since Sam is a firefighter) & after the two said their vows, I had the Lodge bring them s’mores to celebrate! They toasted marshmallows together & had a super fun sweet treat, perfect for their spring mountain elopement! When you elope, you can do things on the fly that you can’t necessarily do when you have a big group! Just add another winning tick to the list for why eloping is awesome! After their snack, we got to work on photos & I had them climb the snowbank on the patio so I could get the smoke from the fire pit in the shot to combine it with the mountain backdrop. We wandered around the grounds at the Lodge then headed out the road toward the natural bridge to complete the portraits for their spring mountain elopement. The natural bridge is a must for photos when you get married at Emerald Lake! The landscape is beautiful & while Emerald Lake was still frozen, the river was running beautifully at the natural bridge to get some pretty coloured water, perfect for a spring mountain elopement!
