REAL ELOPEMENT: Cascade Ponds Elopement in Banff National Park
The Couple: Camillia & Logan
The Season: Late January after a deep freeze & then a thaw
The Location: Tunnel Mountain Reservoir, Cascade Ponds, Lake Minnewanka & Bow Falls in Banff National Park
A Snippet About the Day: While I shoot portraits all the time at Cascade Ponds, I don’t tend to have Cascade Ponds elopement ceremonies (although I really hope that changes), so I was stoked when Danielle at Something New Weddings told me that Camillia & Logan were game to have the ceremony there. I did photograph one other winter wedding ceremony at Cascade Ponds, just check out Brittani & Ryan’s intimate wedding. I met up with Camillia & Logan briefly at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir so they could do a first look then they were able to drive to their Cascade Ponds elopement ceremony together. The weather had been all over the place & the ice was a bit melty, but I loved this spot where there was some blue ice so we trekked over to do the ceremony there. After the ceremony we headed to Lake Minnewanka where a storm was starting to blow in. We hopped in our cars & headed off to Bow Falls to see if the weather was a little better & wrapped up their portraits there.
