REAL ELOPEMENT: Two Jack Lake elopement ceremony in Banff
The Couple: Mandy & Sebastian
The Season: Spring in the mountains! The lovely month of May
The Location: Ceremony at Two Jack Lake & portraits along the Minnewanka Loop
A Snippet About the Day: Mandy & Sebastian traveled from Germany for their Two Jack Lake elopement in Banff this past spring. It was a true elopement, just the two of them, their officiant Aydin & me photographing the action (their wedding planner was also there to oversee the ceremony). Two Jack Lake can be a little busy (especially when the tour buses roll in & a pile of people overtake the area very quickly), so I picked out a spot a few minutes away from the super popular point for their ceremony for their Two Jack Lake elopement for a little bit of privacy. The area was a little muddy since it was early spring & it wasn’t all that long ago that the snow melted, but with careful steps Mandy walked to Sebastian with a scenic processional to say their vows with beautiful mountain & lake views behind them, surrounded by trees… pretty much perfect. Following the ceremony, we hit the road (and in the quieter times of year it’s easier to do photos in the middle of the road!) on the way to Lake Minnewanka where we did most of their newlywed portraits. These two were fun & playful, it’s not often you get a bride wanting to do a piggyback ride in her dress!
