REAL WEDDING: Real Life Snow Globe Emerald Lake Lodge

The Season: Up-to-your-ears-in-snow winter. Early January 2020

The Location: Emerald Lake Lodge & the Natural Bridge in Yoho National Park

A Snippet About the Day: There are two places I think of automatically when I think winter wonderland where it feels like you’re in a real life snow globe & Emerald Lake Is one of them. Lake Louise is the other. The forecast said it was going to be cloudy & cold, but didn’t really mention snow for Becca & Corey’s intimate destination wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge. The group have traveled up from Texas where it was a good deal warmer (although interestingly enough it snowed back home on their wedding day). About five minutes into their outdoor wedding ceremony at the viewpoint, the snow started coming down & the mountains disappeared. It was like being in a real life snow globe that that someone had picked up, turned upside down & shook softly. The most perfect snow graced us for the rest of the day. After their ceremony we all went to the main lodge where they had appies, cut the cake & enjoyed a little champagne while they warmed up. Then back outside for family photos & couples portraits of the newlyweds. The snow kept softly sprinkling down making things look magical. I also hope for a little fresh snow for winter weddings so it was a treat! We wandered down the the road from the Lodge with a stop at the open water before heading out to the Natural Bridge for more snow photos. Becca was wearing a super cute fur coat for some of her photos to keep warm & at one point Corey was wearing it to hold for her & I thought he looked so cute we had to do a few photos of him in the jacket! This was such a fun day at Emerald Lake Lodge. Enjoy the real life snow globe that was Becca & Corey’s wedding in the mountains!
