Places to Get Married in Banff

Banff

Banff National Park is an absolutely gorgeous place to get married if you want a destination wedding feel but want to stay in Alberta. Banff has a big city small town feel and is a bustling hive of activity during tourist season.  You don’t see wildlife as often in the Banff area as you would in Jasper, but you did get a big variety of beautiful landscapes to take photographs in. When you’re in the mountains, an outdoor ceremony is the best way to go to be able to enjoy the beautiful mountain view, even in the winter! There are lots of great places to get married in Banff! I’d love to help you plan the best times & locations for amazing wedding & elopement photos in Banff!

Things to Consider when Getting Married in Banff

  1. The Town of Banff & Banff National Park are different. The locations listed above are either in the town of Banff or close by within 15-20 minutes of the Town, but Banff National Park ranges from the area near the town, to Lake Louise, to Moraine Lake, to Peyto Lake & north toward the Saskatchewan River, it’s a pretty big area to cover.
  2. The area around the Town of Banff can have fluctuating weather. Winter near the town doesn’t always have impressive snowfalls & can look kind of awkward in November & December & March & April.
  3. The Banff area has the widest selection of services from hotels to restaurants to hair & make-up vendors so this area is the easiest for getting ready or fir hosting a reception (hair & make-up vendors will travel to other locations, fyi!). The town is the best area to stay if you like to have more than just nature for entertainment.

Banff has so many beautiful locations for photos so you don’t have to travel far! It’s pretty much spectacular any which way you turn! There are so many places to get married in Banff during all four seasons! Many of the Banff area inns & hotels can do indoor ceremonies as well as receptions. If you can’t get married in Banff, it’s still a fantastic option to head to the mountains for your engagement photos too!

If you are looking to get married and don’t yet have a photographer, I would love to photograph your Banff wedding! Please get in touch for more information! Banff is a great place for an elopement and it’s the perfect place to do engagement photos too!
