Fall is my favourite time of year, especially in the mountains. The landscape is just starting to shift to prepare for winter and the colours are beautiful. There’s a crispness in the air and the light is just amazing (and you don’t have to wait until 10 pm for sunset either to get great light). I was excited to meet up with Kayla and John for their Lake Minnewanka engagement photos. Lake Minnewanka, while being an incredibly popular tourist location, is one of my favourite places for engagement sessions because the area is so diverse and it only requires a 10 minute hike to get away from the main crowds. I find it can be awkward for some people being photographed to have an audience, so I like to get a little further away when I can for a smidge of privacy! Kayla and John did a great job of cuddling, snuggling and giggling all through their session (and I really appreciate that they can laugh at my bad jokes) and and they were willing to climb and hike through a few tough spots to get to pretty locations for me. I always appreciate that! I’m really looking forward to their wedding in Edmonton this summer. Here’s some of my favourites from their Lake Minnewanka engagement photos (with a little bit of Vermilion Lakes too! The light was amazing there too!).
