Winter is just starting here in Edmonton but we are going to back to this beautiful Lake Louise winter wedding showcasing Lydia & Daniel’s day at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was such an amazing day, it still makes me smile thinking about what a fun time we had! I’d like to thank Monica @ Red Bloom Photography for photographing the winter wedding with me that day and I’d like to thank Lydia & Daniel for choosing me to be their Lake Louise Winter Wedding photographer.
I asked Lydia & Daniel to reflect back on their Lake Louise winter wedding day and this is what they had to say.
Lydia:
Overall I was looking forward to my winter wedding because it had consumed my life for the past 12 months and I wanted to get it over with.. haha no i’m totally kidding. I looked forward the most to just becoming Daniel’s wife, taking his name and celebrating this incredible day in one of the most beautiful locations on earth. Everything was a dream come true and I wouldn’t have changed a thing except to go back and do it all over again the exact same way.
I have 3 very special memories I will never forget. The first was the look on my husband’s face when I entered the room – I didn’t take my eyes off him (except to check on my teary eyed dad who then made me ball as well :P) I had that flutter in my belly – the same kind I got when he took me out on our first date, he is the most wonderful man and I felt so blessed in that moment to be in a room full of everyone who I care about witness us finally make our lifelong vows.
The second favorite part for me was dancing with my father to when you wish upon a star. I have thought about that moment since I was a little girl ( I think he has too) it was so special for us, I can’t imagine getting married without my dad – it was definitely a wish we both made a very long time ago and it came true.
The third is a memory that was captured at night…(you might already know which one it is) I love that for a moment time stood still and I was standing with Daniel alone on the frozen lake – snowflakes falling on my eyelashes and kissing him in front of the most beautiful backdrop. It felt like we were in a dream world and was super special for both of us and I thank you so much for taking us back out there to experience it. That photo is priceless because it tells our love story all on its own.
Daniel:
What I most looked forward to leading up to and the day of our winter wedding was the moment that I would be able to see Lydia walk out of the foyer and enter the room. It was the only moment that I had tears come to my eye, as she looked so beautiful. I was so excited for her to become my wife and to spend the rest of my life with her. I think one of your photos catches this moment where I am tearing haha.
Another of my favorite moments was after the ceremony when Lydia, the bridal party, and I were outside taking the photographs. It was a great experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture those moments. You allowed us to feel completely at ease in front of the camera and we were able to be ourselves. Your photos will forever be in our memory.
A last memory (that is already hanging on our wall on a huge blown up picture) was when Lydia and I snuck out during the reception with you to take the pictures by the ice castle. It was like a fantasy for Lydia and I to have these pictures taken, and no one but you could have captured it so perfectly.
