It’s not a secret that I just adore small weddings & Lake Louise elopements so I was super excited for Natasha & Andrew’s wedding because I got to spend the day with just them and we were in the mountains! Nothing makes me happier! They got ready together in the Belvedere Suite at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (I love when couples get ready together on their wedding day!). There’s just a really cool vibe when you get ready together. Andrew got ready first and I helped Natasha into her dress and we did a quick first look before stepping out onto the balcony of the Belvedere Suite overlooking Lake Louise below. This suite is perfect for Lake Louise elopements because look at that backdrop! Seriously. Incredible. They shared a sweet ceremony complete with a few tears (the best) and followed it up with a video call back home to the UK to celebrate with their family. Afterwards we wandered the grounds around Lake Louise for portraits and I perhaps made Natasha & Andrew wander through a field full of bugs that got stuck in her dress… but it was worth it for the pretty photos, I swear (right Natasha? ;)). It truly was a fabulous day. Here are a few of the photos of Natasha & Andrew’s Lake Louise elopement. I just adore Lake Louise elopements!
A few tips for making your mountain wedding go easier
Try to stay close to your ceremony location so you don’t lose time in travelling, dealing with the crowds or having to find parking. This seriously reduces stress on your wedding day.
Try to do avoid mid-day in the spring & summer months. The light is super harsh on a sunny day & washes out the colour of the lakes (probably one of the reasons you’re looking at the amazing mountain lakes in Banff is because of the water, but 2 pm sun in the summer makes the water lose it’s intense colour). Early morning or evenings are idea to get better lighting to show off the location!
Get ready together. If you’re eloping, there’s no reason why you need to hide from each other. You know what you’re getting into. There;s a lot of sweet moments that can happen as you help each other get dressed, hang out for a coffee while hair & make up is finishing, etc.
I just love a first look! Such a special moment!
A quick call back home to let everyone know it’s official!
You know you’ve married the right one when he helps you with your lip gloss!
And he puts on your shoes!
