When you think “mountain wedding” in Alberta, usually you’ll think Jasper, Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise, etc… but there’s Nordegg, this little rustic gem of a location North of Banff with spectacular views of the mountains overlooking a gorgeous lake that is truly the perfect spot for a wedding! Kassandra & Craig had a Goldeye Centre wedding, just East of Abraham Lake in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. They both got ready at the Goldeye Centre in different cabins. As is normal in a mountain climate, the weather was all over the place to sunny and warm to cloudy & cold and there was a crazy wind we had to fight all day, especially out at Abraham Lake. The ceremony was at the amphitheatre and the reception was also at the Goldeye Centre Pavillion. We did some of the couples and wedding party photos on the grounds and then took a trek out to the Lake for the most spectacular pictures. The winds were blowing, I swear at 100 km/h, while we did photos, but we all fought through the wind and rain and sun for some spectacular portraits! I hope you enjoy the story of Kassandra & Craig’s Goldeye Centre Wedding!

From the Couple:
What were you most looking forward to on your wedding day? Marrying the love of my life so probably the ceremony!
What ended up being your favourite moment(s) of the day (both answer)?
Kassandra- Too many favorite moments but probably the ceremony of course. It was magical! I was just as relieved though for it to be over, ha. I also loved the first look with my dad just before the ceremony and the speeches were all wonderful!
Craig- The ceremony
What was the song you chose for the processional?
Groom/groomsmen entrance- Marry Me by Train
Bridesmaids entrance- Home- Vitamin String Quartet
Bride’s entrance- A Thousand Years- The Piano Guys
What was the song you chose for your first dance? Bonfire Heart- Runaground
How did you choose your colour scheme/theme for the wedding? We had a fall wedding so I really wanted to incorporate the colors of the seasons such as deep reds, oranges, etc. Navy complimented those bright fall colors well and is also a favorite color of mine so we chose navy. The colors popped in our photos. Very happy with our choice!
Where are you going for your honeymoon? We are travelling to Italy and Greece in May 2016.
Any other stories about the day you’d like to share? We had the most amazing day! The weather was beautiful except for the crazy windstorm we had for our photos but it makes for a good memory and our pictures turned out beautifully!
