October is a beautiful time of year in the mountains but it can be a little temperamental; so we learned for Kara & Soheel’s Fairmont Banff Springs wedding. The day started out with a little sun peeking through while we were getting ready at the Banff Springs. Kara & Soheel had their wedding ceremony on the outdoor Terrace with a stunning mountain backdrop and the occasional boom of thunder in the distance. Every so often you’d see someone peeking up at the sky expecting the rain to fall but luckily it held off until after the outdoor ceremony was done. It decided to rain pretty hard when we wandered out to do wedding portraits. Kara & Soheel bravely attempted to work with the rain, but it was so cold and foggy and the clouds had dropped so low no mountains were to be seen, we opted to head back to the Fairmont Banff Springs to do photos inside. If you have to go inside to do photos, the Banff Springs is the place to do it! It’s such a beautiful castle of a building! After wrapping portraits with the wedding party it was time to head to the Alhambra Ballroom for the reception. I loved the flowers that adorned the room, just so darn pretty! It was a good night with great speeches! Here’s the story of the day for Kara & Soheel’s Fairmont Banff Springs wedding!
