This past June Anjalyn & Patrick travelled to Emerald Lake Lodge from Utah to have a perfect mountain wedding with their family and friends. In true mountain fashion we had sun and rain (and we even started the day in Lake Louise with some snow). We loved that they brought their dog with them too! They were so adventurous and were willing to anywhere to get great photos and even indulged me and took a canoe ride in the rain! Here’s the story of their amazing Emerald Lake wedding!

From The Bride & Groom
What were you most looking forward to on your wedding day? I was most looking forward to seeing Patrick’s reaction during our first look. We planned a lot of this wedding together and I am terrible at keeping secrets but I managed to keep my dress totally under wraps and I was SO excited for him to see me in it for the first time!
What ended up being your favorite moment(s) of the day (both answer)? Anjalyn: my favorite moment was our first dance. I kept it quiet about the song I chose for our first dance so I think it caught him off guard in a good way! I found a romantic cover of his favorite song originally ‘I’m gonna be’ by the proclaimers covered by Sleeping at last so it was so special and I loved seeing how happy he was and how much it meant to him as it played in the background. Patrick: Seeing Anjalyn come around the corner with her dad to walk down the aisle towards me was definitely my favorite moment of the day.
How did you choose your color scheme/theme for the wedding? For the color: I really wanted something to complement the colors of the natural surrounds and vivid turquoise lake so I chose lilac. I also wanted to balance out how rustic the setting was to bring out my more feminine personal tastes so I picked my favorite flowers (peonies and dahlias) in ivory and blush pink. I always knew I wanted a classic formal look for our wedding and with just our closest family members I knew I could get all the men in tuxes and women in gowns which was so much fun!
Any other comments? I never knew what brides meant when they said ‘it was just the most perfect day’ but after getting married, I understand- it was just the most perfect day ever! I am so happy it went just as I had planned and I have great photos to help me remember every little detail!
