Cascade Gardens isn’t an area I work in a lot because it’s usually super, super busy and extra difficult to work around all of the tourists, but it did work beautifully for this intimate wedding. Originally the plan had been for Sharlyn & Michael’s ceremony to be at Two Jack Lake outside, but the rain started so we shifted to a covered location. The gazebo at Cascade Gardens is cozy and it’s good for a ceremony with 10 guests or less. Following the intimate wedding ceremony, we took wedding party and couples photos photos before trekking off to Two Jack Lake to get that spectacular mountain water in the background. Well, and for mountain views too. When you’re in the mountains, you need at least a few photos with mountains but not all of them. The scenery in Banff is pretty amazing even without the mountain views. I particularly love the wooded areas for photos. After leaving Cascade Gardens, we wrapped up the couples’ portrait session on Lake Minnewanka, another one of my favourite locations (although it can also be tricky here as well with all of the tourists). I love to get a mix of rock, trees & water in my photos when I can. Special thanks to Danielle at Something New Weddings for coordinating another awesome intimate wedding!
