A Snippet About the Day: If I had to pick my favourite time & place to be in the mountains, one would be Lake Louise in October. This magical time of year mixes autumn with winter so that stunning blue water contrasts beautifully with freshly fallen snow… it really doesn’t get any better than that! I looooooove winter in the mountains with all the snow but I still enjoy that stunning turquoise water, so October is the best time of the year to get both. I met up with Amber & Jordan early in the morning for their engagement session while the lake was still & the snow was fresh. I love how they started their mountain engagement session in formal clothes! You can find great dresses for your engagement session at Lulus (although Amber’s dress was Nicole Miller). They were visiting with Jordan’s parent (who we did a few photos with too!) & were staying in the amazing Belvedere Suite, so after working our way around the lake in their fancy clothes, we went up to the suite to get some photos on the balcony before they changed into their second outfits. It’s fun to do two looks for a session as long as you’ve planned for enough time like they did. After they changed, we went back to the lake, I dragged out one of my favourite blankets & had Amber & Jordan just chill (which happened to a licking tickle fight!) then we worked our way around to behind the boathouse (I enjoy this area because there tends to be less people in the way!). Take a look & maybe you can see why I love Lake Louise in October so much! Moraine Lake, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake & Emerald Lake are also pretty amazing this time of year too since they are prone to get snow earlier than other areas nearby! I hope these photos convince you to visit Lake Louise in October during shoulder season!
