REAL WEDDING: Edmonton Winter Wedding
The Couple: Biz & Gio
The Season: bone-chillingly cold Winter
The Location: Edmonton & The Ice Castles
A Snippet About the Day: It’s not often that I actually shoot in Edmonton anymore, most of the time I’m in the mountains, but it was fate that brought us together for Biz & Gio’s Edmonton winter wedding. Biz got ready in what is surely the most perfect hotel room in the whole darn city! Lots of light & lots of space! Their ceremony was in the Wedgewood Room at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald which has always been one of my favourite spaces in Edmonton for a wedding. Since it was a chilly February day, we did a lot of their photos inside & the Hotel MacDonald is great for indoor photos since there is good light, but I also managed to get them to brave the cold and head to the Ice Castle for a few photos. While it was incredibly cold, the photos from that IceCastles are spectacular. It was also so cold that day that I managed to break a camera… pretty stressful but I got through it! We left the Ice Castle & went to the reception at the University of Alberta Faculty Club for their wedding reception. It was pretty much the perfect Edmonton winter wedding (although being a bit warmer would have been nice!).
