This past June was the first time I had visited Victoria and while I was there I really wanted to do some Victoria couples portraits because the landscape was so different from what I was used to working in. I was super excited for some new scenery. I love the mountains, don’t worry about that, but sometimes it’s good for me creatively to go somewhere new where I haven’t worked before and just get inspired. Debbie & Dan were super fun to work with, which always helps. I loved the idea of the colourful houseboats in Victoria at Fisherman’s Wharf for a backdrop so that’s where we met up first. It was a tricky spot to shoot because it was super busy, but also because the light was super intense when we started and also because there’s not a lot of room to move on the dock (at least, not if i didn’t want to fall of the edge, I might have come close a few times!). After strolling the docks we went a little closer to the water on the beach for their Victoria couples portraits and climbed the rocks and scrambled over the driftwood until the sun started to set. Here’s a few of my favourite images from Debbie & Dan’s Victoria couples portraits in the late spring! I can’t wait to go back for another visit and would be so happy to do more sessions here each year and enjoy such an interesting city!
