Kristie & Austin travelled from Indiana for their Canmore intimate wedding this past summer with just a few family members in tow. We started out the day in Calgary for getting ready where Kristie was pampered with hair and make up by the the Pretty Haus before hitting the road to Goat Pond in Kananaskis Country for their wedding ceremony. Kristie obliged me and got dressed out on the porch of the cabin they were staying in… a little unconventional but gorgeous light and space really does make all the difference for getting ready photos! Once we arrived in Canmore, we got set up at Goat Pond and Kristie’s Dad walked her down the aisle and then performed the ceremony. Just before the ring exchange and first kiss, the ceremony was stopped by park rangers (a tent was set up in case of bad weather and that isn’t permitted in the area, FYI) and we had to pack up and head to the park boundary to finish the ceremony for their Canmore intimate wedding! Luckily that didn’t dampen everyone’s spirits though! After a champagne toast in the park, I whisked Kristie & Austin away for their gorgeous mountain adventure session. We stayed up near Goat Pond & Whitemans Pond for the most of the photos and we lucked out with the most amazing rainbow overlooking the valley and Canmore below. It was the first time I managed to be in the right place to catch that gorgeous rainbow overlooking the town! Whitemans Pond is one of my absolute places to photograph people in the area, its so diverse with beautiful green water and all that gorgeous rock! It definitely made for a memorable day and it all worked out beautifully in the end! The Canadian Rocky mountains are the perfect place to run away for an elopement or an intimate wedding!
