It was a classic hot summer day for Becky & Dave’s Kicking Horse Mountain wedding over Canada Day long weekend. I sometimes forget just how hot it can be in the Golden, BC area compared to Lake Louise & Emerald Lake that aren’t that far away and are considerably cooler! Whew! We started out the day getting ready near Kicking Horse Mountain at the properties that Becky & Dave’s families both owned. We did a first look on the balcony before heading out to do photos of the wedding party and the couple. We then caught the gondola to the top of the mountain for more portraits where Becky was feeling super adventurous (bringing Dave along with her) and scaled down a huge pile of rocks to get some of my favourite photos from the day. We enjoyed a gorgeous mountaintop ceremony before flowing into the reception at the Eagles Eye. It’s a seriously beautiful venue. After great speeches, we went back out to the terrace to have the first dance surrounded by mountains (and mosquitos, just as our luck would have it… eep) and finished the night with a few more portraits as the sun was setting over the mountains. The perfect way to wrap up their Kicking Horse mountain wedding! I can’t wait for my next trip back to Golden!
