I’ve really enjoyed photographing weddings in Calgary, especially Carly & Eric’s Bow Valley Ranche wedding. It’s just nice to get a change of scenery and new venues to work in. We started getting ready at The Bow Valley Ranche in the cutest room for both Eric and for Carly. After getting ready, we had a quick first look outside before their ceremony started. There was an afternoon reception, so after we did some timeline planning, we decided that we’d do all of their portraits after the reception and it worked fabulously! They got to spend time with their guests and were relaxed and refreshed for portraits when the summer light was gorgeous. It was a win for everyone. I’m hoping to have more weddings with that kind of timeline. Here’s some of my favourite photos from Carly & Eric’s Bow Valley Ranche wedding featuring tea cups and succulents (some of my favourite things!!).

From the Couple:
We were both just looking forward to finally being married! 🙂
Carly’s favourite moment: When I got to see Eric for the first time with us both dressed up and I ended up crying but Eric had a Kleenex ready for me because he knew I would cry.
Eric’s favourite moment: When we walked down the aisle right after the ceremony and were received by family and friends, with a random crowd of spectators congratulating and cheering us on.
The processional song was Love you till the end by The Pogues
I would say we tried to go along with a vintage feel so the venue was exactly what I was looking for. However somethings ended up being very eclectic like cactus/succulents in tea cups (tea cups maybe vintage but cactus?) and I love all animals so why not animal name settings (an excellent Pinterest find in my opinion). I’m also not sure I really had a color scheme lol, it was more go with the flow and the florist did an amazing job picking flowers to fit with what I described to her!
We drove through BC after our wedding for a honeymoon. Made several stop including one at The Burrowing Owl winery. We also hiked along the old train railway path with all the old trestle bridges in Kelowna.
We both wanted to say how much we enjoyed our JP Tamara! She did an amazing job and everyone commented on how lovely of a ceremony it was to us!
