The Fairmont Banff Springs is called the castle in the mountains for a reason. It is truly the place dreams are made of. Michelle & Nick chose a mountain wedding and picked the outdoor terrace for their ceremony with stunning mountain views and they had their reception in Mt Stephen Hall, easily one of the most beautiful reception rooms in the world. They got ready in Canmore and we did a first look before heading into Banff for their wedding party photos. We battled some rain and then the glaring sun for their photos. Michelle also got a hornet sting and was such a trooper! We hit a few locations to get those gorgeous mountain views and we had a short hike down to Bankhead to mix up the look a little. Once the photos were done we headed to the Banff Springs for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the Terrace where thunder and dark clouds threatened rain throughout the ceremony. Luck was on our side though! The rain poured just moments after the register was signed! So happy we did photos before the ceremony!

Michelle & Nick had hired Lynn Fletcher Weddings to help coordinate their wedding and they did a spectacular job. We were able to do a room reveal to capture Michelle & Nick’s reaction to all of their hard work planning their reception. That also gave us time to capture detail photos and then we stole Michelle & Nick for a mini portrait session on the Terrace before their reception started.
