The Season: Finally spring! Stormy spring… in like a lion!!

The Location: Great Saltair engagement just outside of Salt lake City, Utah

A Snippet About the Day: It’s not often that I get to travel away from the Canadian Rockies but when I do I love to go explore fabulous landscapes like this Great Saltair engagement spot. I was staying in Salt Lake City for my trip, I thought it would be a good hub for my travels. I like to have a home base & it was pretty central to the Salt Flats, wasn’t too far from St. George (which I didn’t end up getting too because of a snow storm) & had lots of beautiful views all around the city. Great Saltair is a short drive from SLC heading West (and I first saw this spot driving out to the Bonneville Salt Flats & thought it looked great so I wanted to go back to shoot there!). It was shaping up to be a stormy night when I met Christie & Brandon out there. It was cold. The wind picked up. The crazy stormy skies rolled in. I love a dramatic sky so I was kinda stoked that we got those skies for their Great Saltair engagement. We shot fast, treating the chilling spring evening the way I do when I shoot in winter in the mountains at home. Just go fast, change poses up quickly, add a blanket, get walking, etc. I’m happy that we could brave the crazy weather & still make some beautiful photos before it got too dark & rainy to continue for this Great Saltair engagement shoot!
