Debbie & Trevor planned an intimate summer wedding at Buffalo Mountain Meadow in Banff (this popular ceremony location is also known as Tunnel Mountain Reservoir, but it is the meadow behind Buffalo Mountain Lodge, so that kinda makes sense that there was a name change… anyway, gorgeous spot for a ceremony and for wedding photos no matter what you call it!). They wanted to do a first look before their ceremony at Buffalo Mountain Meadow so I brought Trevor down the slope below the Meadow and had him face out to take in the view as Debbie approached. His reaction w hen he turned to see her was so sweet! Having a first look, even if it’s just a few minutes before the ceremony, is a great way to shake off the nerves and you actually get to enjoy the moment of seeing each other rather than seeing and being rushed straight into the ceremony. It doesn’t take away from the processional at all, that’s still another great moment but you’ll be way less nervous!
Anyway, back to the ceremony at Buffalo Mountain Meadow. It was windy. Like super windy. That’s pretty normal for this spot. The bridesmaids dresses were flying around. Debbie’s veil had a mind of it’s own and there was a battle to reveal her from under it for the first kiss. Trevor managed to fight back the veil to snag a kiss though! Whew! On their walk back down the aisle, I love to have the couple stop and get one more kiss surrounded by their guests!
We left the Buffalo Mountain Meadow to do bride & groom portraits with a short stop along Tunnel Mountain before going to Cascade Pond to take in the mountain views with pretty green water and enjoying the woodland feel in the trees there too. These are some of my favourite photos from Debbie & Trevor’s Buffalo Mountain Meadow wedding in Banff this past summer!
